This is very important when you are considering  hiring a solar screen company because accidents or injuries may happen. (A lot of solar screen handyman or companies do not carry insurance at all. Very risky!)

Yes we do. We will beat or match the others by giving you the copy of their quote to compare and see if they offer the same products or services as we do. Please remember that cheap prices are not always the best choice if poor quality or bad services are hidden from you. You may save a few bucks upfront but later down the road, it will end up costing you a whole lot more to remove and replace.

Film is an interior application and is not designed for double pane windows. It is not nearly as effective as solar screens and voids out all window warranties. It also damages the sealed thermal pane windows. Keep in mind that window tint is installed on the inside pane of your double paned glass window. With this approach, the sun will penetrate the outside pane of glass, causing it to heat up. But more importantly, the sun's UV energy will get absorbed by the inside pane of your double paned window; therefore, making that pane of glass get extremely hot. Awnings are expensive and do not offer protection 100% of the time. Neither of these alternatives will result in energy savings in the winter.

Solar screen will still allow full visibility; only you will be looking through a material so it is almost like looking through a regular screen, only a little darker. Feel free to open your window blinds and curtains during the daytime and not have to worry about anyone looking inside your house because viewing it from the outside, you cannot see through the solar screen during daytime.

Solar screens will still allow light to come in, so it will not completely darken the room. However, there are no current statistics available as each person's home will be subject to several different variables such as the angle of the sun on your windows, orientation of the house, interior design, and the number of trees in the yard. Each customer has a different opinion on the matter, so the best idea is to have a us hold various screens over your windows while you determine the best choice for your personal preference.

Not in the daytime. Solar screens offer privacy in the daytime. However, at night, if you have lights on, people will be able to see in.

Each person's house and comfort level is different so we cannot quote any figures. There are simply too many variables. However, solar screens can significantly reduce the cost of cooling and thus help lower your utility bill.

No. Companies use different materials and building methods and provide different services, and there are many 'amateurs' in the business. Don't be fooled by cheap imitations such as fiberglass-based solar screen products which do not have the ability to hold their color nor provide the protection. The quality of their products will only hold up over short period of time.

We have been in the wholesale and window covering manufacture for many years with combined staff experience of over 25 years. We are a direct manufacturer which means that we custom make each window screen at a manufacturer price.  

We stand behind our works. All our Phifer screen materials come with a 10-year manufacturer's warranty (Phifer) against any manufacturing defects! In addition, we offer an additional 5 years on parts or labor after the manufacturer's warranty for all the screens we have installed (excluding normal wear and tear, storms, weather, pets, personal, or burglar damages). Be aware, there is no such thing as lifetime warranty as advertised by others!

Cinco Roller-Shade products on RollEase clutches offer a lifetime warranty against manufacturer's defects. Somfy also warrants its motors to be free from defects in material and workmanship under normal use for 5 years.

No, some people think they will get more benefit from passive solar heating with the solar screen off in the winter time. However, there are less daytime hours in the winter season; it is also usually more overcast, limiting your chances of passive solar heating. Solar screens also create somewhat of a barrier, keeping the cold winter winds off your glass, similar to a storm window, therefore, keeping the temperature of the glass warmer. The warmer you keep the glass, the less convection heat you need to pay to pump through your house. Heat will be attracted to the glass areas, therefore, conserving energy.

Yes, since solar screens save energy, they normally will pay for themselves within a short period of time by reducing your energy bills. Solar screens will help your air conditioner last longer with fewer repairs due to the reduction on operational load.

Yes absolutely. The screens can be removed for you to wash your windows. We highly recommend the screens to be removed and re-installed by a professional window installer only. We are not responsible for any damages if you remove and re-install them by yourself or anyone. The best method that we recommend is to hose your screens with garden hose in low soft spray.

We recommend you to wash your exterior windows prior to our installation of the solar screens.

Yes, properly installed solar screens will not inhibit the operation of your windows. However, airflow will be slightly reduced due to the thickness of the material.

Yes, solar screens will drastically reduce the fading and 'bleaching' of curtains, carpets, and other interior items.

Yes. Insect screens must be removed as solar screens will take place of insect screens. We can haul off your old screens. However, if your current insect screens are in good condition, we recommend you to keep them for a potential future need. For example, if you are going to sell your house down the road, the new homeowner might prefer the insect screens instead.

If you want more light, better airflow and visibility, you should go with 80%. If you want more glare reduction and energy efficiency, you should probably go with the 90%. A 90% screen offers 10% more shading than an 80% screen. It is also possible to put 90% screening on the more exposed areas (theatre room, etc.) and 80% on areas with less sun exposure (i.e. north side). Aesthetically, it will not look any different on the exterior. We also carry 70% screening.

The darker colors are more efficient and also have the best view. However, we offer 7 different colors and you should pick the color you will be most happy with. Just remember: the darker the color, the better the view. We highly recommend the darker colors.

For maximum energy efficiency, solar screens should protect all windows and doors. However, you may order sunscreens only for those windows you may want to cover, such as the southern exposure of your house. Yes you can install solar screens on any door with glass.

We normally have installation completed within 5-7 business days of ordering. We can do it in 3-5 business days if you need it done sooner. During the summer season, it can take up to 7-10 business days.
